The first Pixar animation



This video created a lot of buzz lately, but after researching a bit I came to conclusion that it's not fake. In 1972 Ed Catmull (founder of Pixar) and his workfellows produced the world's first 3-D rendered animation (demo real of cutting-edge computer animation), an recreated digital version of Ed's left hand. You are able to see some "making of" footage (around 1:30) and another early on tries out.

Some things never change

Teen girl and bionic fingers

On the early stages, fresh amputees have to handle with pain and physical conferred by amputation operation, rehabilitation and finding out how to use a prosthetic device. There are few health and medical issues that amputees may need to address with also. Innate amputees and their kinfolks will deal with numerous of these personal problems, like accommodating to the amputation, over time as the amputee child grows up.



Chloe Holmes is 15 years old from Swindon and she lost her fingers when she was a child, suffering from septicemia resulting from chickenpox. She had a prosthetic had until her folks raised £38,000 (over $60,000) for the hi-tech hand presented in the video above.

She is now the youngest person in Europe to be equipped with bionic fingers. AS you can see, Chloe is really cute and it's a pity that bad things happen to good people. But still she is a gorgeous girl and it makes me glad to see science and technology arrived to the rescue.

Nokia Kinetic concept design





Concept designer Jeremy Innes-Hopkins has a fascinating concept smartphone named the Nokia Kinetic. The smartphone answers to notifications and calls through movement. An electromagnet in the base of the smartphone admits weight to be changed which induces the phone to rise when experiencing a call, for example.


This phone features a pioneer design. The slick and unique curves brings a fresh design that Nokia was lacking for years.
